Inspired by vibrant poppies bringing splashes of sunshine to the countryside, the textured cathedral glass captures the flower’s distinctive golden colour. When natural light passes through the petals, the rippled surface scatters the light and gives the bloom an almost glowing appearance.

Handmade California Poppy Stained Glass

Each flower is individually handcrafted aboard the maker’s narrowboat, Willow Aurora, using the traditional Tiffany copper-foil method. Pieces of coloured glass are carefully shaped, wrapped and hand-soldered together to create each distinctive flower.

The combination of golden glass and orange tones gives this glass California poppy the appearance of a little “living flame”, with subtle variations in the glass making every handmade stem unique.

An Everlasting Glass Flower

At approximately 35cm tall, the flower can be displayed individually in a favourite vase, arranged alongside other stained glass flower stems or placed amongst plants to add a permanent splash of colour.

Unlike fresh flowers, this California poppy won’t wilt or fade, allowing its golden colour to be enjoyed throughout the year.
